What is the Role of Production Agriculture in Your Local Community?
My role of Production Agriculture in my community, is everything. When I go to the c-store it is supporting the co-op witch is supporting the local farmers. Most of our community is made up of farmers. Really appreciating their hard work and knowing that it can get tough. Doing AG 9 and being part of FFA is building our FFA chapter. We support out county by volunteering or showing different agriculture items. Doing this shows the farmers our appreciation. Basically just wearing our FFA jacket stands for a lot. The FFA jacket stands for a lot. It stands for my character and my willingness to learn and be involved in agricultural activities. Land judging this year taught me a lot and I can take back what I learned and help farmers or ranchers to know what land is best for what, so then you get the most out of the land. Whether that be good crops or grazing land for animals. Being apart of FFA and AG class has really showed me how to appreciable the farmer and ranchers and Agriculture it's self.
What I do in my role in agriculture in my community is participating in Ag classes and also being involved in FFA. I haven"t done a whole lot other than be in ag class and FFA. Also I worked the past couple summers detasseling and that is being involved in Agriculture and helping my community and surrounding communities.
My role of Production Agriculture in my community, is a lot of things. It is important for one reason because my dad farms. Another reason is that I am involved in FFA and am in ag classes. I helped my dad this summer and that is also helping with agriculture and being engaged in the environment. Also helping around the house whether it be mowing or helping out in the garden is doing something that will affect the environment.
A better question is what is not. Almost every thing has to do with agriculture in Nebraska. I am yes, a cosmetic, designers, and gaming producers are not included but coders can be involved, store employees, and a classic farmer are involved in AG possibly. In my small field surrounded community we talk about corn most of the year this is because we produce a lot of corn for cattle feed and ethanol. Though Nebraska is 1# in cattle production around my parts I can see corn for miles. So sense we are a small town of slightly over 400 people, we need to travel to the next town over, Aurora, to get some groceries. The Aurora Mall where many of my friends work get crops from near by farmers and some learn about different types of crops and meats. They help bring products closer to people. In Aurora we have a few fast food restaurants these people help feed the area while having to quickly get back to something or after a long day. I even have a friend that works in a local shop in Town Square! It is a coffee shop and the get different products and learns about AG related things there too. So AG in my community is everywhere. Where I grew up in Florida I don’t see AG much but after moving here I can see it when I visit more. One last place AG production is, is in my classroom. I am a product of AG.
