Mammoth Skeleton uncovered in Texas: The McEwen family found an ancient mammoth skeleton while cleaning out their gravel pit. I think this was cool because you could find the littlest things in huge piles of dirt. I think of the saying finding a needle in a haystack. sometimes it may be hard to find the needle but with patience you'll find.
ReplyDeleteThey found a mammoth skeleton almost perfectly preserved in Texas it was in a gravel pit by this families house they said that it was tens of thousands of years old wow that is pretty interesting!
ReplyDeleteA mammoth skeleton was found in Texas. It could be about 20,000-40,000 years old. It could possibly be almost even 60,000 years old. It is almost perfectly preserved. The ancient bones were found just south of Dallas. It is being donated to a museum.
ReplyDeleteA sweet and Tasty trip to the fair: I think that it is great to have the State Fair because it shows our culture and agriculture. It is also a great way to hang out with friends and socialize with people. If you go to the state fair then you get a chance to see why Nebraska isa great state and what makes it unique.
ReplyDeleteA sweet and tasty trip to the state fair. I picked this one because it looked interesting and like something that I would enjoy reading about. I think its a really good thing that they have AC in some of the buildings at the state fair. The reason that I think this is because some people can not stand heat as well as others. I saw this older lady passed out in a lawn chair with someone fanning her with ice on her fore head because of the heat.
ReplyDeleteHow kids' livestock shows are changing: A little girl by the name Tiffany Larue was going to enter a hog in the West Virginia State fair. She was going to enter one that had was pregnant but the placenta detached and killed the embryos. The other they bought and the seller had claimed that the hog was pregnant which she was not. The only chose left was to go to the farm down the road and buy a hog from there. They bought 2 hogs named Fire and Brimstone. They took care of the hogs how they were taught in 4-h and FFA. Tiffany and her brother Levi knew they were bound to loose. I think that these kids stuck with what they wanted to through thick and thin and eventually they need to cheer up because as long as you try, you will succeed. No matter what they tried and never gave up.
ReplyDeleteHow kids livestock shows are changing: I think that it is great that kids want to become more involved with agriculture and livestock. How they want to show animals and other crops in the fair is pretty cool. Just because you don't have the best pig at least you are there and doing something that you love.
ReplyDeleteAt the Nebraska state fair they are making cinnamon rolls for the visitors wow that is a lot of cinnamon rolls they are talking about the bonding time that they have to cook and make them for the visitors and thats about it. Oh yea and they enjoyed the beautiful agricultural scenes between our fair city and our destination.
ReplyDeleteI read about the Wooly Mammoth found in Texas. I find that crazy! Imagine your walking around your plot of land and suddenly finding a bone sticking out of the ground. Along with another and another until you find out that its a nearly complete skeleton! I'm also glad to hear they donated it to a museum. Especially sense it was almost perfect.
ReplyDeleteA farmer thinks of planting bad tasting corn in certain spots. Why? so that the thieve that have been taking 1,200$ worth of his corn that was ready to be picked will get some bad tasting corn. He put a fence up but that still didnt stop some of the thieves.
ReplyDeleteWhy you don't what to be a farmer in America.
ReplyDeleteI love to garden so this post is really cool to me. Local farms are a great idea because then you really know where your food comes from Small farms are a good idea but there are some people that would rather not have them because it cuts into there profits and over all how much they make.
Nebraska Wheat Board volunteers work to bake fresh cinnamon rolls for Nebraska State Fair visitors. That is nice that they are volunteering to make the rolls and not even wanting anything in return. I didn't even have any cinnamon rolls there i bet they are delicious.
ReplyDeleteHow kids livestock is changing. I think that its pretty cool that kids are able to show the different things in the fair. Just because they don't have the best things in the state it means a lot that they are going out there and trying new things.
ReplyDeleteA couple of farmers in the Catskills are trying to help each other sustain there new business. There business is chicken farming. They think chicken farming would be unique because not many people do chicken farming. Someone one day will taste that chicken and be like "oh thats what chicken tastes like!"
ReplyDeleteMy second story was about the state fair. I will be going Friday with the high school marching band and after with one of my best friends Krista. Also Saturday with my family and my friends and last day (Monday) to help clean and pack up the shop! I love that state fairs exist its a good way to show what is going on in the state. Not to meantion the good bonding I have with my friends, family, and school.

ReplyDeleteNothing is for fun anymore, it is all about winning and that's it. If you try to have fun you almost get punished because the that buy their way to the top laugh because you wanted to have fun so you entered an animal or project that may not have been the best but you made it all by yourself. 4-H should be for fun not just to buy your win but to get something because of all your personal hard work.
A sweet and tasty trip to the fair- The first thing that I think of when I see the word fair is food. Don't get me wrong...I love food, but I feel like I've gained ten pounds when I eat something from the fair. I love being able to go to the fair and just take in the atmosphere. I don't have to go on rides or play games to have fun. Hanging out with my friends is enough.
ReplyDeleteSwine for sale- I think it's great that kids are doing competitions and competing, along with learning more about agriculture, animals, and FFA. I do think that it's kind of outrageous that the one family hadn't gone on a vacation in years. My family is more important to me than anything. You should have fun and enjoy it. It gets to be too much when it's interfering in your personal life.
