  1. WASHINGTON — World food prices in March fell to their lowest level since 2010 as consumers benefited from a glut of commodities, the United Nations said this week. The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization said the food price index, which measures monthly price changes in cereal, dairy, meat, sugar and oilseeds, fell 2.6 points in March to 173.8 points.

  3. Musical swing set builds community
I think this is a good idea to have a swing set that they have to work together for to make the swing set work. This action will help the community grow and work together. So then in the next years they can get along and do stuff that will benefit the community now and in the future.

  4. Farmers Fight to Help Food Waste
Some farmers are wanting to donate their food directly to a food bank. However some aren't sure about this because they won't be able to claim a tax deduction for the donation. Chris Pawelksi donates his undersized onions to City Harvest.

  5. Farmers Help Fight Food Waste
Farmers are donating food. Chris Pawelski, an onion farmer, donates his onions to City Harvest. It is cool how farmers are taking time to try and help by donating different items.

  6. For Easter and Everyday.
No matter what you do with eggs, dye them, color them, boil them, or eat them they may come from a family farm like the Girard Farm in Osceola. Eggs come through by the dozen at this farm enough to fill 12,000 egg cartons a day! Can you believe how many chickens that would be if each chicken lays one egg a day? My chickens give us about 8 eggs tops a day. But not all of our hens lay.

  7. Women in Agriculture
I think that it's great that they have meeting and things for women. I think the mentor idea is a really good idea to implement into the system. I feel that it shouldn't be just for women, but a mentor for everyone who wants to have a career in agriculture.

  8. Farmers help fight food waste
I think the PPO is a great thing to have for those farmers with hopefully bigger crop production and others. To be able to have that as a back up and not just give away the food is good. Not to mention great for the people getting the food on the other end who need it.
